本著"DC仔"的心態入手這部機, 卻發覺除了防水外, 它比其他DC也有出眾之處. 而且價錢不貴, 性價比好. 夏天去玩水又怕弄壞相機的話, 這部機絕對值得考慮.

夏天就來, 想買部質素不錯又可自拍的相機準備去玩水時用.
見到新出的這部頗吸引就決定買了.
這部雖然只有10米防水, 但對於只是玩水而不是潛水來說已十分夠用.
21mm的wide angle加上180度反mon, 就算在海上也可和朋友一起自拍~

- 21mm plus flip monitor, absolutely selfie lover's killer
- the only all weather camera with flip monitor at the moment
- Double lock system for the battery/memory card compartment
- iAUTO mode convience, suit basic users
- HDR is usable
- Panorama photo (with Auto and Manual mode) can be pan in any 4 direction with playback during review
- manual white balance setting (even has 2 manaul settings!)
- Digital zoom photos is usable
- Macro is good
- Flash level control is good
- Anti shock system is very good (can take very clear picture with one hand in 1/2 shutter speed)
- Rich in features/effects

- Picture quality doesn't really meet my expectation
- The four direction control key (Arrow pad) is sitting too close to the strap eyelet, if you use the factory strap, it makes you very difficult to press on the right direction. This should be fine with the factory floating strap
- No len cover
- Zoom lever is too close to the shutter button
- Tripod socket is not metal (I use tripod quite often)
- Seems like need to use factory's USB cable to charge the batter inside the camera, the cable seems difference to daily use (mini, micro) USB cable (to be confirm)

Just got my new toy couple of days (seems like this camera still not availbe in Hong Kong market at the moment). So just did some basic testing under should bad raining weather. Basically this camera is very easy to use, quick response and feature rich. Haven't have a chance to try under water yet. Loooking forward for that (well.......that's the whole point why I buy this camera! ^_^)

I need to buy a water proof camera and decide to pick the TG-850 mainly because of the 21mm ultra wide angle, which is absolutely amazing, with very good distortion control I'll say. Then plus the flip monitor, together with the 21mm ultra wide angle, this combination absolutely is selfie lover's killer, which suit some of my family members' needs. And I don't really need GPS, WiFi, etc, these functions are useless to me.

Got this camera with good price, under HKD $2,000, comes with a factory floating strap as a free gift. So that's why I go ahead and bought it even without any reference sample photo (can't find any sample photo in the net at that moment). If it cost more than that, I may consider other brand becuase I don't really very please with the picture quality (personal taste factor, some people may love it), to me the picture quality is just acceptable, but could be better.

There's another thing that I don't really like about this camera is how the camera naming the images it takes. It start with the month, then date, then the sequence number. Say if you take some picture this morning, it name the first image with today's date with sequence number starting from 1. Then if you copy out all the pictures from the memory card, than take more picture, the camera will start to name the image with today's date plus the sequence number starting from 1 again. This apply if you change another card as well. This makes very hard to group same day photos together in one directory. I don't think it's really a cons, but just not very convenience.

Things still to test: movies, continues shooting, under water performance, battery life.......(still a lot..... ^_^)

Overall, it's agood camera. With the price I paid, really can't complain too much can I? ^_^
